About Our Name

The word spitfire expresses our passion for the game and communicates our desire to create a strong organization that could be a vehicle for years of athletic and personal development.

By definition, a spitfire is a highly emotional person. Also, a spitfire is classified as one of the fastest and most effective single seated planes in World War II. It is said that no other aircraft can match the reputation of a spitfire.

In view of that, we look for excited, dedicated and emotional players that will work hard individually towards the common goals of the team.

About Our Organization
All practices and home games are played at the Iorio Arena in Walpole, Massachusetts.

The program has been organized to conform to USA Hockey classifications:
Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 19.

Teams will be declared National or State bound in accordance with Massachusetts Hockey requirements.

On occasion, players selected for a Tier II team may be asked to participate in a Tier I team’s games, practices, or tournaments and may also be added to the National Bound roster at any time during the season.

Our youth teams have two practices, one skill session, and a minimum of one game per week.

Our U16 and U19 Teams play a split-season schedule and have one practice, one skills session (optional) and one game per week.

Skills sessions are open to all players for the duration of the winter season.

Practice schedules will be given to all families and every attempt to maintain consistency will be made.

Home games will be held on Saturdays & Sundays @ The Foxboro Arena between 9:20 am – 1:00 pm. Away games will be scheduled by the New England Girls Hockey League. Game schedules are typically released by the league in mid-September.

We plan on participating in holiday and state tournaments. A tournament coordinator will be selected to communicate the needs of each team.

Commitment
In order to build a successful program we need players and families who are committed. The success of the team is determined by how well everyone works together.

We expect all players to participate in all scheduled games and practices. Players will not be allowed to participate on other teams competing in the New England Girls Hockey League (NEGHL).

Players will be allowed to play for their town boys' programs or their respective school programs. Players will not be permitted to be rostered on or participate in any activities with other girls programs.
